Plan International UK is seeking a Gender and Girls Education Advisor in a consultancy role, to support on the Shule Bora programme in Tanzania. The UK Aid funded programme is delivered in a consortium led by Cambridge Education with Plan as one of the core delivery partners, and aims to improve the quality, inclusiveness and safety of learning for girls and boys in pre-primary and primary schools in Tanzania.
The objective of this consultancy assignment is to support the technical team and government counterparts to apply the gender transformative approaches to designing, developing, and monitoring interventions including implementing some complementary gender and Girls education awareness creation for Shule Bora team as necessary. The expected results from this consultancy are:
- All intervention, materials, and tools across output are reviewed with a gender lens as per output demand/request;
- Inclusion strategy prepared and implemented across the program;
- Shule Borateam and key stakeholders have enhanced knowledge, information and awareness on the importance of gender and girls’ education initiatives;
- Shule Bora team and key stakeholders trained in gender transformative strategies and supported to embed strategies and approaches in their activities;
- Provided on-demand technical advice to LGAs on Gender and Girls’ education interventions design, implementation and adaptation, and learning plans.

The position is home based, with travel to the programme locations in Tanzania expected.
